Metal Wallet Boxy Mini OCT (Octagon)
The design motif is a vintage lighter.

A metal craft where creators machine each piece from a solid block of metal and finish it by hand.
It has a smooth feel.

Following the bi-fold type "Metal Wallet Boxy" and the long wallet type "Metal Wallet Boxy Long", the "Metal Wallet Boxy Mini OCT (Octagon)" is the third series and the smallest metal wallet from FACTRON.

The design has also been sharpened compared to the softer image of previous models.
We adopted a vintage lighter-style design.

Duralumin Model and Special Titanium Model

Two lineups: Duralumin Model and Special Titanium Model.

Duralumin (aluminum alloy) is also used in aircraft and is hard and very lightweight.

Titanium is even stronger.
It is a rare metal that is gentle on the body because it is less likely to cause metal allergies, and it is lightweight and rust-resistant.
Due to its extremely high processing difficulty, there are almost no consumer products manufactured by machining.

Both are made of strong metal. Milled for even greater strength.

Strong materials are manufactured with even stronger cutting processes.
It is not sheet metal processing, which involves bending thin plates.

Even if it gets scratches, the shine can be restored repeatedly with maintenance, and repairs are possible.
It is much more durable than leather products.
It can be used for a long time.

Two Designs, Two Sizes

The design is a sharp vintage lighter style.
The smooth texture is unique to machined products.
Despite its mini size, it shines brightly and is simple yet distinctive.

For both duralumin and titanium,
You can choose from two designs: "Plain" and "Choco",
And two sizes: "Mini" and the even thinner "Mini Slim".

Boxy Mini is approximately 24mm thick.
Boxy Mini Slim is even thinner, approximately 17mm thick.
Both have the same external dimensions, differing only in thickness (capacity).

In addition, the Mini comes with a coin holder.

Compared to a typical leather bi-fold wallet (empty), it's this small.

Both the Mini and Mini Slim slide easily into a pocket on your pants or shirt.

Although it looks heavy due to being made of metal, both the Mini and Mini Slim are surprisingly light.

Ultra-compact with large capacity

Despite its ultra-mini size, it has a large capacity.
Even when fully loaded, it doesn't bulge like a leather wallet because it's made of metal.
It fits neatly and smoothly into your pocket.

Removable coin holder

A dedicated coin holder that can be set above or below the card space.
Using this, you can store not only cards and banknotes but also coins.
The Boxy Mini comes standard with a coin holder.

When the coin holder is inserted into the Boxy Mini, the maximum number of cards is 5 to 7.
When the coin holder is inserted into the Boxy Mini Slim, the maximum number of cards is 1.

Coins are fitted into 6 slots, allowing you to see the remaining amount at a glance.
Each coin is held individually, so the jingle sound of coins hitting each other is less likely to occur.

The silicone securely holds the coins, so they won't fall out even if shaken upside down.

For spaces for larger coins like 500 yen coins, you can put smaller coins at the bottom and cover them with the larger coin.

Skimming prevention. Easy-to-find cards.

Store cards in stacks. Quickly retrieve the card you need.

Approximately 11 to 17 plastic cards such as credit cards and cash cards can be stored (for Boxy Mini without coin holder).
Of course, driver's licenses, insurance cards, paper point cards, etc., can also be stored together.

Metal shell with skimming prevention function

Cards are completely stored inside a duralumin (aluminum alloy) shell, providing excellent skimming prevention.
When closed, it protects cards from all directions.

Also for bills and receipts.
The bill space can hold tri-folded bills or folded receipts.
If storing only cards, it can be used as a receipt holder.

*The dummy bill inside the wallet is the same size as a 10,000 yen bill.

The internal corners have been eliminated for easy access, and a gentle, sloping design allows for smooth sliding. This shape is unique to machined products.

Regarding magnetic stripe damage:
Entry passes and older magnetic stripe bank cards may experience "magnetic stripe damage" if stored in strong, close contact for long periods.
Our tests showed no magnetic stripe damage or skimming issues after more than 4 years of use as a wallet for similar products.
Also, credit cards with IC chips, which became mandatory in 2020, are not susceptible to magnetic stripe damage.
If you are concerned, we recommend taking measures such as inserting an electromagnetic interference prevention sheet.

Mechanical Opening and Closing Function

No Magnets Used

No magnets are used to avoid affecting cards.
All opening and closing mechanisms are mechanical.
The hinges, which are subject to force, are designed with a special structure to prevent metal fatigue from friction between metals and to minimize friction noise when opening and closing.

The clasp part is made of metal for durability.
Even if it wears down, it can be used for a long time by replacing parts.

Machining and Handmade

Duralumin model: approx. 6 hours 43 minutes
Special titanium model: approx. 23 hours

The duralumin model undergoes 3D machining for 6 hours per set.

The special titanium model takes a staggering 23 hours per set.

After that, deburring and polishing are done by hand, and fine adjustments are made between parts, with final assembly all taking place in our own workshop.

It's a job that involves a lot of handiwork.

At our design studio in Ota-ku, Tokyo, each item is carefully machined, hand-finished, polished, and assembled one by one.
It is not a mass-produced item, but a handmade product that involves a lot of human touch.

This metal wallet Boxy mini is commercialized as a 3D machined product with machining marks (marks from the cutting tool) left visible.
Especially on the inside, the movement of the cutting tool is intentionally left.
For typical products, sandblasting or other processes are often applied to hide machining marks, but FACTRON decided to leave them as they are, considering them a charm of craftsmanship.

While the machining marks remain, all edges and corners are hand-filed and adjusted to ensure there are no issues with use.

This product is a metal craft item with a significant amount of manual manufacturing processes.
Please understand that, unlike mass-produced items, not all products will have exactly the same finish before placing your order.
